Where are the Eyelid Surgery incisions located?

Where are the Eyelid Surgery incisions located?

So eyelid surgery is a procedure designed to remove excess skin or fat from the eyelids. Usually when there is skin on the upper eyelids, the incision is right at the crease, the natural crease we have. So when the eye is open or even if the eyes are closed, it’s very rare to see that incision because it heals really well. That also depends on how the tissues are sutured together, so it cannot be a lot of tension during surgery, and the sutures also need to be removed quite early in the post-op period. For the lower eyelid, the incisions are right under the lash line. Basically, everybody has a tiny little wrinkle there and that’s where we place the incision. So also, once it’s healed, it’s basically a very transparent line under the lash line and at three to six months, it’s basically very hard to see unless you really have a magnifying mirror or you just get very close to the eye.
