How long until I can have sex after breast augmentation?
Sexual activity after breast augmentation can be resumed around four to six weeks after surgery. Sometimes earlier depending on the recovery of the patient. So we always want to avoid any intense physical activity right after surgery that can increase the blood pressure. That can also happen during sexual activity so definitely not the first two weeks after surgery. That is when we have the highest risk of having bleeding around the breast implant, but if the patient is healing well, if there is little swelling, after two weeks that could be resumed, but I would say always play a little safe because we don’t want to take a patient back to the OR because of a hematoma or bleeding. So between two and three weeks I would say most patients are safe and some wait four weeks or a little bit longer until they feel comfortable about it.
