Brow Lift
Conveniently located to serve the areas of Atlanta, GA

A brow lift is a surgical procedure designed to shape and elevate the eyebrows to improve the periorbital area. (1) As we age, the skin loses elasticity, which can cause the forehead and brow area to droop. Droopy brows also contribute to a tired appearance of the eyes. If you are looking to rejuvenate your appearance, especially around the eyes, you may be a candidate for a brow lift.
Dr. Gabriele Miotto and her team at ME Plastic Surgery in Atlanta serve patients from all across the United States. If you are looking to revitalize the look of your eyebrows, we invite you to visit our state-of-the-art office for a consultation.

About Brow Lifts
Brow lifts, including endobrow lifts, are one of the more popular facial rejuvenation surgeries performed today. (2) This procedure addresses sagging brows, which can contribute to a tired appearance. It also aims to smooth forehead wrinkles by resetting the brow position. It can soften the glabella lines or “the eleven lines”. Many individuals seek brow lifts for various reasons, including enhancing their facial appearance, as part of a facelift surgery for brow reshaping, and for achieving a more youthful look in combination with a blepharoplasty.
Types of Brow Lifts
There are three different types of brow lift procedures offered by Dr Miotto:
- Endoscopic Brow Lift: This minimally invasive option utilizes small incisions hidden within the hairline. It is the most commonly performed brow lift done by Dr Miotto. An endoscope, which is an instrument with a camera attached, is inserted through the incisions to assist in the procedure, allowing for minimal scarring and faster recovery. (3)
- Temporal Brow Lift (Lateral Brow Lift): This method focuses on the outer (lateral) brow region. Shorter incisions are made, specifically targeting sagging at the temples. It is ideal for patients who do not need any changes to the medial brow, or as part of a facelift, to keep improving the lateral face and distribute the upward lateral “bunching” of skin after the extended deep plane facelift.
- Pre-hairline brow lift: This technique involves a pre-trichial incision (incision just at the hairline) of various extent to remove excess skin and reposition the brow. It offers significant lifting but typically leaves a more visible scar. Selected patients with longer foreheads can benefit from this type of brow lift.
The type of brow lift you could benefit most from can ultimately be discussed during your personal consultation with Dr Miotto.
Benefits
Undergoing a brow lift can yield numerous advantages. Here are some of the many benefits commonly associated with this procedure:
- More Youthful Appearance: The primary benefit is restoring a more youthful look by lifting drooping brows and reshaping the periorbital area.
- Enhanced Facial Harmony: Resetting the eyebrows in a better position contributes to the overall balance and attractiveness of the face.
- Increased Self-Confidence: A fresher appearance can significantly boost confidence levels.
- Long-lasting Results: Once healed, the results of a brow lift are long-lasting, providing periorbital rejuvenation for years.
- Minimally Invasive Options: Advancements in techniques have reduced recovery times and created more natural results.
- Personalized Approach: Dr. Miotto takes great care to tailor each procedure to the patient’s unique needs.

Ideal Candidates
Brow lift procedures often appeal to individuals who are experiencing:
- Sagging or drooping eyebrows.
- Forehead lines or wrinkles.
- Brow ptosis that is affecting their upper eyelid shape.
Typically, there is no strict age requirement for undergoing a brow lift. However, the majority of candidates consist of adults between the ages of 30 and 65.
If you smoke, you will not be eligible for a brow lift at Dr. Miotto’s office. To ensure patient safety, Dr. Miotto requires her patients to quit smoking months in advance. Your eligibility for a brow lift will ultimately be determined during your personal consultation with Dr. Miotto at ME Plastic Surgery.

- Arrange transportation for the day of the procedure.
- Create a comfortable recovery space at home with the necessary supplies, including healthy foods rich in protein and fiber.

Recovery
Approximately a week after a brow lift, we ask that patients return to the office for suture removal.
Discomfort and swelling after a brow lift are normal. Most patients describe the feeling as a tight sensation throughout the forehead, scalp, and temples. This sensation can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks.
Much of the bruising and inflammation around the eyes and forehead resolves within two or three weeks of recovery.
Each patient is unique, making it difficult to provide patients with an exact recovery timeline, but usually, at 4 weeks, patients are looking good with minimal signs of surgery.
Results

After your recovery, you will be able to see a noticeable improvement in the appearance of your brows. Scarring is generally minimal and is easily concealed given the strategic placement of the incisions in the scalp. Brow lift procedures are commonly associated with high patient satisfaction rates (4), especially when performed by an experienced professional such as Dr. Miotto. Many individuals enjoy long-lasting results with aesthetic rejuvenation that is visible for a decade or longer.
Corresponding Procedures
Brow lift procedures can be combined with other cosmetic treatments to achieve comprehensive results. While additional treatments are entirely optional, Dr. Miotto and her team are happy to provide recommendations for corresponding and complementary treatments that they feel can help you achieve your desired goals. A few of the more popular procedures to pair with brow lifts include facelifts, fat transfer, and eyelid lifts.
